The Resilient Soul Movement, founded by Gosport practitioner Val Ross, is a trauma‑aware, animal‑inclusive wellbeing initiative supporting both humans and animals through stress, trauma, and emotional overwhelm. Built from lived experience, the movement exists to ensure that people — and the animals who support them — are never left to struggle alone.
Val specialises in animal and service‑animal wellbeing, offering trauma‑aware support for working dogs, emotional‑support animals, and companion animals who absorb the emotional weight of their humans. Her approach recognises the deep two‑way bond between human and animal healing.
Her own support cat, Ruby, remains at home due to her trauma history, but her story shapes Val’s understanding of how deeply animals feel and how gently they must be supported.
Val is also involved with the RSPCA, contributing her trauma‑aware approach to animals in need and strengthening her mission to advocate for those who cannot speak for themselves.
In the community, Val works closely with C2U, running a wellbeing group and volunteering weekly to support veterans, carers, SEN adults, families, and individuals who struggle to access traditional services.
The Resilient Soul Movement stands as a compassionate, accessible, multi‑species approach to healing in Hampshire.
